OTTAWA - CANADA'S CAPITAL

The most famous hotel in Ottawa - Fairmont Chateau Laurier.
As we crossed the McDonald-Cartier Bridge, we could view the locks to the Ottawa River. Six to eight pleasure boats at a time enter the locks to be lowered into the Ottawa.
Behind me is the Portage Bridge. It is one of many bridges from the Province of Quebec to cross over the Ottawa River to enter Ottawa City in Ontario Province.

Behind Walter is Ottawa's Parliament Building.
Here are more locks and they are along side the Fairmont Chateau Laurier.

The McDoanld-Cartier bridge is unique in that there are the car lanes, then a barrier and the pedestrian and biking lanes over the Ottawa River. It is a very biking and walking friendly city.
This is the entrance to the McDonald-Cartier bridge from the Museum of Civilization.

In the park beside Parliament and in other places around the city, there are these stone pedestal with a 3-D map of the buildings in that particular downtown section.

This building is the National Gallery of Canada. This art museum overlooks the Ottawa River, has a great deal of natural light that flows into the building and has ramps from one floor to another.
The park and gardens around the Parliament building.
