LBJ - THE RANCH

LBJ bought the family ranch over many years from relatives and then adjacent lands. After LBJ's time as President, he and Lady Bird moved back to the ranch and arranged for the ranch to be given to the Parks Service for the public to enjoy and to learn of the Hill Country.
The ranch was known for this "white-faced" cattle.

This type of cattle is very hardy and mature quickly.

River that flows through the ranch.

Sheep are also raised on the LBJ ranch.

This is the show barn where visitors were taken to see this outstanding breed of cattle.

Grazing in a serene place.
