MT. HOOD - TIMBERLINE LODGE

Dedication of the Timberline Lodge by Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1937.

In front of the Timberline. At President Roosevelt's dedication, it was said of the project that the Timberline is the people's lodge and everyone's success story. It was the government coming together to put people back to work after the depression, not only to help our citizens, but to build up America for future generations.

Cascades restaurant in the Lodge where we had a very excellent lunch including their special hot cocoa with toffee bits!

Looking up one of the many fireplaces to the rafters. Timberline is furnised with original paintings, carved linoleum, mosaic glass, sculpted wood, stone and metal all created by WPA artisans.
