I am standing in front of a solar parking pass dispenser. This is very innovative. There is one for each block (blocks are short in Portland) which dispenses the parking ticket and time requested. It is then put in the curbside window of your vehicle. The flat surface on top of the meter is a solar panel. Notice how the street looks without dozens of parking meters.
