ISLA AGUADA - TRAVEL DAY

As we cross the large rivers emptying into the Gulf of Campeche in the state of Tabasco we see scenes of river villages like this one. Tabasco had the worst floods in 50 years less than a year ago. One village was completely covered with mud and killed hundreds.

We are headed into the state of Campeche and the coastal city of Ciudad del Carmen. At the border there is a food products quarantine checkpoint. I think we had to give up one dozen eggs. Teri only opened the refrigerator door and the inspector was not curious about the freezer.
Above you see that RV 22 in our caravan was ahead of us at the checkpoint.
After crossing into Campeche we begin to see tropical scenes such as this. Here is a lagoon side restaurant and tour business.
And here is a lone fishing boat by the water.
Arriving in Isla Aguada we cross the last bridge. Our campground for the next few days is to the right near the end of the bridge on the lagoon side - a salt water lagoon.

Our long Fifth Wheel RV is harder for us to park in tight spots than most motorhomes, so we have to wait till most others are parked. We end up with a shady spot, but the pine trees block our internet dish and we (and all those that share our internet) go missing the internet for the next few days. Here we are still hitched to our RAM tow truck and sticking out a little into the path.

At 5 PM we have our social hour and trip briefing by the wagon masters for the next day.

By the end of the evening we see a beautiful sunset over the bridge and the beach.
