IT'S HOT IN THE WINTER HERE IN THE GULF COAST AND YUCATAN
We have sweated more this winter than ever before. In spite of being prepared with twin Hondas with an external fuel tank system (4 KW powerplant) and wearing the lightest clothes we have we are still hotter that we have ever experienced in South Florida in the Winter.
It is not necessarily the temperature, which is usually in the upper 80's or low 90's, but the very high humidity that causes us problems. We have learned to run for the nearest pool or beach, and when that fails to hide in our airconditioned RV, except that we have had to endure generator use restrictions between the hours of 10 PM and 7 AM and also when the RVs are packed really close in a parking lot.
The locals say that they manage to survive in the Summer by taking multiple showers per day. I also think they try to take long siestas in their large hammocks in a shady and cool place every midday to pass through the most unbearable part of the day. Temperatures in the Summer can go as high as 110 degrees Farhenheit with high humidity. In Chiapas it rains 9 feet during the rainy season!
