XEL-HA WATER PARK

We will stay here for three full days visiting this beautiful water park, the Tulum ruins and gorgeous Caribbean beaches nearby.
We plan to drift towards the ocean floating on tubes along the mangrove lined slow flowing river on the right of this picture,
We park the RVs in a large parking lot on paving bricks surrounded by landscaping. We rejoice - no dust, no mud, and no puddles.

During these few days I did quite a bit of translating between Ted Lane and Hex and Mexican alternator repairmen. The alternator in Ted's Country Coach failed and he had to buy a replacement, then buy a second when the Mexican repairmen blew the new one after installing it and seeing it work perfectly.

One night we bargained payment with them at 2 AM!

We find Jim and Susan as we search for the start of the river.
We get in our swim suits, rent a twin float and foot fins to help us along the river and dive in. The water is cold.
Afterwards we are hungry and seek one of many good restaurants.
The park is crowded with young people from all over the world and Mexico.

This was the cutest toucan.
I used to play along a jagged coral reef shore like this in Cuba when I was 10. If you look carefully at the rock in the foreground you will see TWO iguanas.
